Terms of Service
Welcome to Boxtro Kitchen. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Boxtro Kitchen mobile application and related services (the "Service") provided by Boxtro ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you can form a binding contract under the laws of your jurisdiction.
2. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for anything that happens through your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use. You can sign in with Apple, with email and password, or with a one-time code; whichever method you choose, the same account rules apply.
3. Families and shared content
Boxtro Kitchen is built around families. When you create a family or join one with its code, you agree that the recipes, meal plans, shopping lists, and similar content in that family will be visible to every member of that family. Don't share a family code with anyone you wouldn't trust with everything in the family library.
Anyone who currently belongs to a family can add, edit, or remove content in that family. We're not responsible for the actions of other family members.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of the recipes, photos, and other content you put into the Service ("Your Content"). You grant Boxtro a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and process Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service for you and the family members you've chosen to share it with. We don't claim any broader rights to Your Content and we don't use it to train machine-learning models.
You're responsible for Your Content. Don't upload anything you don't have the right to upload, and don't use the Service to share content that is illegal, infringing, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit involving minors, or otherwise harmful.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer or attempt to bypass the security of the Service;
- Use the Service to send spam, phishing, malware, or other abusive content;
- Scrape, mass-download, or otherwise extract data from the Service beyond what's available through normal use;
- Resell or commercially exploit the Service without our consent;
- Use the Service to violate the law or the rights of others.
6. Third-party services
Boxtro Kitchen relies on third-party providers (including Apple, Google, and Resend). Their terms and policies may apply to your use of the Service in addition to ours. See our Privacy Policy for more detail.
7. Beta and availability
Boxtro Kitchen is currently in beta. Features may change, break, or disappear; data formats may evolve. We'll do our best to communicate meaningful changes in advance. The Service is provided "as is" without guaranteed uptime.
8. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or if we're required to by law. On termination, the licenses you've granted to us with respect to Your Content end, except to the extent your content has been shared with other family members and they continue using it.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any defect will be corrected.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Boxtro and its officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) US$50.
11. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Boxtro harmless from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Service, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms.
12. Changes to the Service or these Terms
We may modify the Service and these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll let you know in the app or by email before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of (jurisdiction — TBD), without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in that jurisdiction, and you consent to their personal jurisdiction.
