Common questions

How does the family code work?

When you create a family, Boxtro gives it an 8-character code (using letters and numbers; we leave out easy-to-confuse characters like O and 0). Share that code with anyone you'd like to add. They tap "Join a family", enter the code, and they're in. The code lets people join the family — share it carefully.

How do I join a family?

On the welcome screen, pick "Join a family" and enter the 8-character code the family creator gave you. You'll see the family library immediately.

I can sign in on one device but not another.

Make sure both devices are signed in to the same account. If you used Sign in with Apple on one device and email on another, those are two separate accounts. Pick the one you'd like to keep and email us if you need them merged.

The one-time code email didn't arrive.

Check your spam folder for a message from no-reply@boxtro.com. Codes are valid for 10 minutes; if it's been longer, request a new one. If they consistently don't arrive, email support@boxtro.com with the address you signed up with.

Scan-a-recipe missed something.

The scanner reads the printed text with the camera and then asks our AI helper to organize it into a recipe. Lighting, glare, and unusual layouts can throw it off. You can edit any field after scanning, and you can re-scan if the result isn't useful.

How do I delete a recipe?

Open the recipe, tap the menu, and choose "Delete recipe". Anyone in the family can delete shared content — be careful, deletes are immediate.

How do I leave a family?

Open the app, go to your profile, and tap "Leave family". You'll lose access to that family's recipes; the recipes themselves stay with the family.

How do I delete my account?

Email privacy@boxtro.com and we'll delete your account and your personal data within 30 days. We're adding in-app account deletion before public launch.

Which devices does Boxtro Kitchen support?

iPhone running iOS 26 or later, and Android phones (via Google Play). Both apps are launching soon. iPad and tablet layouts are on the roadmap.

Is Boxtro Kitchen on Android?

Yes — Boxtro Kitchen is coming to both iPhone and Android. Same family library, same private cloud, same realtime sync across whichever phone is closest to the stove. The Android app distributes through Google Play.

Both betas are opening soon. If you'd like a heads-up, email hello@boxtro.com and we'll add you to the list.

Will my recipes work across iPhone and Android?

Yes. Your account, your family, and your shared library all live in the cloud, so anyone can sign in on either platform and see everything immediately. No export, migration, or "primary device" — just sign in.
